About Dr Ian Roscoe

Veterinary Surgeon

I am a Veterinary Surgeon who qualified in 1982. I began my life in pet clinical practice in 1976, working as a volunteer in a local practice before going to Vet School.

Since graduating in 1982 I have worked continuously in small animal practices. During which time I have helped at the end of countless pets’ lives. I have 38 years experience in performing pet euthanasia both in the clinic and in people’s own homes.

End of life care at home available 7 days a week

In my experience, many pet owners prefer their pet to be at home, in familiar surroundings, for their last moments. Rather than suffer the anxiety of another visit to the clinic.

Having sold my practice, I now have time to offer much greater flexibility to provide calm and unhurried end of life care in peoples’ homes. I am able to offer appointments at a time to suit, including evenings and weekends.

I work in collaboration with an experienced colleague so that we offer extensive and reliable cover.

Modern techniques

Both of us use modern techniques approved by the CAETA (Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy) and the American Veterinary Medical Association which involve the use of sedation to relax the pet completely before euthanasia.
